UPM-Kymmene has received a purchase offer for the French planing mill in Aigrefeuille d’Anuis. The offer, however, is still subject to certain pre-conditions, the details of which have not been disclosed by UPM-Kymmene as yet. The offer is now being discussed with representatives of the works council. A decision whether the planing mill will actually be sold to the bidder, who has not been named as yet, is expected to be taken in mid-September. UPM-Kymmene has also already announced that it will be looking into closing the mill down as an alternative to selling it. Production at the planing mill, with an annual output of 45,000m³ planed lumber for interior as well as exterior applications, is to continue on the usual scale until discussions have been concluded. The sales procedure, which was announced on 17 January 2013, was originally intended to be concluded by the end of July.
