Turnover and results figures at the Portuguese company Sonae Industria declined further in the second quarter of 2013. Consolidated turnover was down year on year by 5% to €324m. The EBITDA fell by 18% to €19m, while the recurrent EBITDA corrected for extraordinary items, at €22m, decreased by 8% year on year. The net loss was reduced only slightly from that of the previous year, to €13m. Figures for the previous year had been adjusted for the turnover and results contributions made by the particleboard plant Sonae UK Ltd. in Knowsley, Great Britain, which was finally closed down in mid-September 2012; that company is now consolidated under non-continued operations.
