The Finnish machine-engineering company Raute has concluded the negotiations launched on 14 November on temporary lay-offs at the Nastola and Jyväskylä facilities in Finland. According to a press report on 28 November, the measures involve laying off employees for a period of up to 90 days. The lay-offs begin in December 2013 and, with some exceptions, affect all 355 employees at the two facilities, though not all at the same time. According to Raute, the measures are to be applied flexibly depending on the orders position and could last until the end of 2014. These adjustments in personnel are Raute’s response to the sharply regressive receipts of orders since the beginning of 2013 and to delays in planned projects.
