The Chilean group Celulosa Arauco y Constitutión increased production in all three of its divisions during the third quarter of 2013. Wood-based panels manufacturing jumped to 1.332m m³. Paneles Arauco made 1.294m m³ in the second quarter; production was similar in the fourth quarter of 2012 at 1.194m m³ and in the first quarter of 2013 at 1.199m m³. This sharp increase compared with last year is primarily connected to its 24 September 2012 take-over of Flakeboard and the start-up of a second MDF/HDF line at its site in Jaguariaíva, Paraná, which used to do business as Placas do Paraná. The Panels division experienced a 65.3 % growth in revenues to US$502m as a result.
