The MDF manufacturer MDF Hallein, which is part of the Binder Group, ceased raw-panel production at its Hallein plant on 6 March. The sanding line and the cutting-to-size saw continued in operation until 8 March, but were then also shut down. Pre-produced stock, which has been sold in full, is now scheduled for delivery. Stock at the beginning of April was still at roughly 10,000 m³, all of which is to be delivered to buyers by the end of April at the latest. Following the announcement on 16 January 2014 of the disinvestment decision, MDF-Hallein buyers were given the possibility of placing follow-up orders up to the end of January for production in February. After the shutdown of the production lines and the expected clearing of the warehouse in the next few weeks, the Binder Group intends to look at the possibility of marketing the production lines, but concrete decisions in that respect can only be reckoned with at the end of the second quarter at the earliest. |
